Northern District School Display
Join us at North Inch Community Library for a special one‑day display commemorating the history and legacy of Northern District School—later renamed Balhousie Primary and its place at the heart of the local community.
Following the devastating fire that destroyed the school in June 2025, a group of former pupils, alongside colleagues from Perth & Kinross Council Archives and Culture Perth & Kinross Museums, formed a working group to explore meaningful ways to honour the beloved Perth landmark.
On display will be a selection of items from the Perth & Kinross museum and archive collections including historic photographs of the school and its pupils, the original architectural plans for the building, the very first school logbook and a First World War Roll of Honour. There will also be the opportunity to view the 117 year-old time capsule, recovered from the ruins after the 2025 fire, along with its preserved contents.
Former pupils, families, and members of the community are warmly invited to bring along any photographs or memorabilia connected to the school. Items may be shared informally or considered for acquisition by the Perth & Kinross archives or museum collections.
