Our Spring classical stars series opens with a welcome return by one of Perth’s favourite musicians. Paul Lewis has devised a charmingly balanced programme. The framework of Mozart’s charming C major Sonata and its darker minor companion is perfectly partnered with the wry wit of Poulenc’s Improvisations and the sheer brilliance of Debussy’s L’Isle Joyeuse which is so difficult that even Rachmaninov, the greatest pianist of the age, found it seriously challenging!
